Terms of service

1. Purpose of the Service

Agora is software (a community forum and MDT for FiveM servers) that each community installs and hosts itself, with Docker or through a Pterodactyl / Pelican panel. The Service includes:

• issuing and managing licence keys for Agora;
• distributing software updates to installations;
• support, through our Discord server (ticket system);
• the website, including the account area and licence purchases.

The Service does not include hosting your Agora installation or its data: those stay on your infrastructure, under your responsibility.

2. Account and Discord identity

Identification on the site and the support server is done exclusively through a Discord account. You are responsible for the security of that account and for the actions taken with it.

You must be of legal age to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction and comply with Discord's and FiveM's terms of use.

3. Trials and licences

A 14-day free trial on the Basic tier is offered for a new installation, with no payment method: the trial key is requested from the account area and the countdown runs from the first activation. A paid extended trial (30 days on the Pro tier, for the price shown on the Pricing page) is offered once per Discord account, to a customer with no active paid licence; it is a one-time payment with no renewal. Beyond the trials, using the MDT and Pro tier features requires an active licence.

• One licence matches one Agora installation. Moving an installation to another machine is done on request through support. An additional licence (second instance and beyond) gets the discount shown on the Pricing page as long as a paid licence is active on the account.
• The licence belongs to the community that buys it; it is neither transferable nor assignable.
• The tiers (Basic, Pro) and the features they cover are those described on the Pricing page at the time of purchase.
• The licence key is viewed exclusively in the site's account area; it is never sent by Discord direct message (only a notification with a link is). Activation is done by pasting the key into the installation's administration (Administration → Licence) or through an environment variable.

Without an active licence (end of trial, end of subscription, revocation), the forum keeps working. The MDT and Pro features get a 14-day grace period (except after a refund or a dispute, see below), then lock until a key is activated. This lock does not delete any data.

4. Prices, billing and payment

Prices are shown in the currency you choose (Canadian dollar, euro or US dollar); the amount due is the one shown in that currency at the time of purchase, with no conversion. Subscriptions are monthly or yearly and renew automatically at the end of each period, at the current rate, until renewal is turned off. A one-time payment covers one month, one year or, for the “lifetime” licence, an unlimited duration (licence with no expiry, revocable only in the cases set out in these terms), and does not renew.

Two payment routes are offered. By card through Stripe, you buy from us: applicable taxes (GST/QST, VAT, etc.) are added to the displayed price where relevant. Through Tebex (PayPal, paysafecard, cards and other local methods), the sale is concluded with Tebex Ltd, acting as merchant of record: Tebex issues your invoice, collects the taxes included in the displayed amount and applies its own terms of sale to the transaction. In both cases we never store card details. A declined, reversed or refunded payment ends the paid period.

Discounts (promo code, trial → paid discount on the first month, permanent discount on an additional licence) do not stack: a single discount applies per purchase, shown before payment. A promo code may be limited in time, in number of uses, by tier or by interval.

We may change prices; a change applies from the next renewal and is announced beforehand in your account area or on Discord.

5. Renewal, cancellation and refunds

You may turn off automatic renewal at any time from your account area (or by opening a ticket on the support Discord). No charge occurs afterwards; the licence stays active until the end of the period already paid for, followed by the 14-day grace period described above.

Unless the law provides otherwise, periods already paid for are not refunded pro rata. In return, a self-service refund request, approved automatically, is offered in your account area for the last payment of a purchase: for 7 days after a monthly payment (monthly subscription, one-time payment of one month, extended trial) and for 30 days after a yearly payment or the purchase of a lifetime licence. Only one refund is possible per payment, and only for the last payment. The refund is executed by the payment platform used (Stripe or Tebex), never by manual transfer; it ends the subscription and the paid period, with no grace period (the forum stays active). A dispute or chargeback opened with the platform has the same effect; the paid period is restored if the dispute is decided in our favour. Outside this window, a request may be sent to support, which reviews it with no obligation.

We may suspend or revoke a licence in case of breach of these terms (in particular circumventing the licensing system, redistributing the software or abusing discounts), after notice where reasonably possible.

6. Updates and availability

Licensed or trial installations receive Agora updates through the built-in mechanism. We do our best to publish stable, compatible versions, without guaranteeing a schedule.

The Service (website, licence server, update server) is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continuous availability. A temporary outage does not interrupt your installation, which keeps running locally.

To work, an installation sends minimal technical telemetry (see the privacy policy). Blocking it may prevent licence validation and updates.

7. Acceptable use

By using the Service, you agree to:

• not circumvent, disable or tamper with the licensing system, version signing or tier limits;
• not redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense the software or licence keys;
• not use support or Discord to harass, spam or spread unlawful content;
• comply with applicable laws and the terms of third-party platforms (Discord, FiveM / Cfx.re, Stripe, Tebex).

8. Intellectual property

Agora, its code, name, logo and documentation remain the property of the Agora operator. The licence grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use, limited to its duration, for your community.

Content produced by your community in your installation (forum posts, MDT records, images) belongs to you; we have no access to it.

Agora is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two, Cfx.re / FiveM, Discord, or the authors of the ESX, QBCore and QBox frameworks.

9. Support

Support is offered on our Discord server through a ticket system, in French and English. Pro customers are handled first. It is provided with no commitment on response time or outcome (no SLA).

Ticket conversations are logged and a transcript is produced on closure (see the privacy policy).

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event at issue. We are not liable for indirect damages (loss of data, revenue or members, interruption of your game server).

Your installation and its data are hosted with you: you are responsible for backing them up (the db_data and agora_data volumes), for the security of your hosting and for your community's compliance with applicable laws.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under Québec's Consumer Protection Act or any other law of public order.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version is published on this page with its date. A substantial change is announced at least 30 days in advance in your account area or on Discord; continued use after that date counts as acceptance. If you refuse it, you may cancel before it takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute falls under the competent courts of Québec, subject to the rights granted to you by the law of your place of residence.
